Ronnie Stockholm Catches Up With Alyssa Wyld

***The scene opens backstage at PWA King of Deathmatch. Backstage interviewer Ronnie Stockholm is standing by with KODM finalist, Alyssa Wyld.***

STOCKHOLM: “Alyssa Wyld, moments ago, we witnessed you and your tag-team partner Damion Black score an impressive victory over Kevin Starr and Rex Camelot. That means that you will move on to the final, one-on-one main event bout to determine the 2021 PWA King of the Deathmatch. The only person standing between you and your first ever PWA championship is none other than the man who helped you get this far in the tournament… Damion Black.”

***Alyssa nods and adjusts her wrist tape.***

STOCKHOLM: “Given the complicated history between Damion Black and the Wyld Family, how does it feel to know that you will be facing him one-on-one in the biggest and most consequential match of your career?”

ALYSSA: “You know my family’s history with Damion Black. We have been at odds since the day PWA opened its doors. But if my experiences with my brother Akira have taught me anything, it’s that failing to let go of old grudges can poison your spirit, and before long, it can completely take control of your life. After years of animosity, Akira and Damion settled their differences once and for all at the last supercard. As far as I am concerned, it’s a new day for us all.”

“I’ve been in PWA for six seasons. During that time, I’ve been part of a lot of great matches. I’ve had the chance to fight side-by-side with my uncle, my brothers and my daughter. Throughout all that time… once thing I’ve never had the chance to fight for is myself. People may not like Damion Black or the way he has chosen to do business, but my family would be nothing if it weren’t for second chances. The truth is that Damion Black gave me an opportunity to achieve something for myself this season. He played it straight with me and together we put on a masterclass in tag-team wrestling at every stage in this tournament. Speaking for myself… Damion Black’s ledger is clean.”

“Now… that said, tonight I’m going to be stepping in the ring one-on-one with him in one of the most dangerous matches in the history of PWA. From the beginning, we both knew that at a certain point, it would be every person for themselves. We agreed to work together to get to the finals… and we agreed that once we got there, we would do everything in our power to win this thing, partnership be damned. So that’s where we are at now. In a lot of ways… this match is a culmination of nearly twenty years of blood, sweat, and tears for me. I’m ready to take that step to the next level. I’m ready to win that crown. And the fact that I have to go through Damion Black to do that… well, that almost seems like it was an inevitability. I can’t say what the future holds for my partnership with Black. I can’t think about that. All I can focus on is what is directly in front of me. And what is in front of me is the King of Deathmatch Crown.”

***Alyssa looks at the camera and nods. Then she turns and heads down the hall, a serious and determined look on her face.***
