PWA Heavyweight Championship – Brian Fury vs. Richard Pennyworth, III (C)

Pennyworth hits the canvas head first and collapses. Fury lies on his back, spent, trying desperately to turn over and cover Pennyworth. As Bill White gets in position to count the eventual pin, a shrill scream comes from the crowd, “OH MY GOD!”.

Bill looks up at the last moment and narrowly avoids a body bag as it smashes into the center of the ring. The heavy thud of the bag sends a sudden hush through the crowd, followed by whispers and a building panic.

GARY BLOOMFIELD: “Oh my God! That black bag has just fallen from somewhere above the ring! It looks like some kind of body bag, and it looks FULL! We need help out here!”

Fury and White each move towards the body bag. White motions to the back for help as Fury tries to unzip the mangled bag. As the zipper frees, the lights in the PWA arena shut off and almost as quick turn back on. The body bag is empty and behind Fury stands Rhett Holiday with a maniacal grin with a barbed wire wrapped shinai.

Bill White looks to intervene before Holiday plants a foot in his chest, shoving White back. Holiday’s grin widens as he rears back and strikes Fury in the spine with the shinai, then with the back-swing catches Pennyworth, who has just regained his feet, across the nose.

Security swarms down the ramp as Holiday continues to swing the shinai violently into both competitors, laughing like a madman. The few attempts to stop him by security and other officials are met with a wild swing of the shinai with zero regard to if and who it hits.

Once the ring is cleared, Holiday kneels in the pool of blood as it stains his white trunks. He dabs his fingers in the blood like a child to paint ‘CHAMPION’ on his chest in before smearing more blood across his face.

The lights go out for a moment then come back on. Rhett Holiday has vanished, leaving only his bloody instrument of destruction and both competitors left lying in the ring.
