Special Announcement

*The lights go dark, and “Cowboys from Hell” blares through the arena.  Momentarily, the strobes start up as Gehenna and Ragnarok step out onto the ramp, followed closely by Nick Spoils.  The trio make their way to the ring, taunting fans occasionally on the way.  Once in the ring, the lights come up, the music stops, and Nick Spoils takes a microphone.*

NICK: “So here we are.  The last episode of Assault before we move on to Rise of Kings.  And my boys here don’t have a dance.  Worse than that, they don’t have anything TO fight for.  See, Damion Black got all the singles heavyweights together for a grand old tournament.  It’s lasted for weeks and showcased ALL kinds of talent.  Then, he took the little guys case, and mashed up some sort of smaller tournament.

“But there’s one group he forgot.  This company has a bunch of tag teams.  And while it may be a foregone conclusion that Armageddon is the best there is here, the fact of the matter is that my boys like to fight.  And what have they had?  A handicap match against the Coldsnakes.  A match against a nobody team.  And a couple of singles matches.  They haven’t even seen this stage at all in a couple weeks.

“So, there’s one thing and one thing only that’ll satisfy my clients.  Damion Black, get your ass out here and tell us how we can win a set of tag team titles.  Don’t make us come hunt you down.”

*Silence reigns over the arena.*

NICK: “All right.  Have it your way.  Boys…”

*Gehenna practically vaults over the top rope to the ground whilst Ragnarok starts taking the stairs.  They just make it to the floor when “Charisma” by W.A.S.P. plays, and Damion Black makes his way out to the top of the ramp.*

DAMION:  “Nick, you really should have more faith in me. I know the heavyweight tournament has taken center stage, and deservedly so.  That tournament has shown the world the level of entertainment and competition we as an organization can bring to the table. I did not forget about our light heavyweights and I have not forgotten about our elite tag team division. Of course, I have great plans for all the tag teams, including Armageddon. At the Rise of Kings event, four tag teams will compete in an eight-man tag team match. Each team will be comprised of two PWA tag teams. The losers of the eight-man tag match will face each other in a tag team match. The winning team of that match will be the #1 contenders for the PWA Tag Team titles. Meanwhile, the teams that win the eight-man tag match will compete at Rise of Kings to determine PWA’s very first Tag Team champions!

“So, Nick, bide your time and keeps your boys fresh. Very soon, they will have all the competition they can handle.”

NICK: “Are you kidding me with this crap, Black?  You’re finally talking about a title, and now we have to rely on another team not dragging us down to get a shot?  Not to mention a guaranteed two fights in a night.  This is absolutely ridiculous!”

BLACK: “Your team has the same chance as every other team that will compete at Rise of Kings. Yes, it’s going to be grueling. I designed it that way so there can be no disputing that the winning team earned their championship. Of course, Nick, if you think that’s too much for Armageddon to handle, you can always withdraw from competition.”

NICK: “You’re not going to get rid of us that easily, Black.  Shine up those belts for us, and make sure our partners aren’t going to screw us over.  If that happens, mark my words, we will make sure you pay.”
