The Wyld Family faces an uphill battle tonight on Assault...

**The scene opens backstage at the PWA Arena shortly before the start of Assault. The Wyld Family is in the trainer’s room. Rebel Wyld is sitting on an examination table while a PWA physician is tightly taping Rebel’s knee. Rebel winces in pain as the doctor shakes his head.***

PHYSICIAN: “Your knee is a mess Rebel. You aren’t in any condition to compete this evening.”

REBEL: “I don’t have a choice doc. Tonight is the semi-finals of block B. Damion Black already said that he wouldn’t allow any substitutions. Either I compete with what I’ve got, our the Wyld Family goes out there tonight short-handed.”

PHYSICIAN: “I understand your frustration Rebel, but you have to think about your long-term health. I can tape up your knee and you can wear a compression brace… but if you land on that leg wrong, you’re looking at the potential for serious injury.”

REBEL: “Look… you know what I’m up against, and you know what my answer is. Are you clearing me or not?”

***The doctor sighs.***

PHYSICIAN: “Your knee is stable for regular athletic activity. As long as you understand the risks, there’s technically no medical justification for me to sideline you. But I know how intense PWA competition is… and you’re walking out there with a huge target on your leg. I’ll clear you… but I strongly recommend you reconsider competing tonight.”

REBEL: “I hear you… I’ll take care of myself out there.”

***Aldo and Alyssa approach the examination table.***

ALYSSA: “You know we would understand if you decided to sit this one out.”

REBEL: “Not a chance in the world. We’re the front-runners for this title. Even if my leg was broken I’d drag my carcass out there. The Wyld Family is bringing that title home.”

ALYSSA: “Okay, then it’s settled. Wrap that knee tight and let’s get out here and give Kevin Starr a receipt for Battery.”

ALDO: “Look at the points in the bracket. Win or lose tonight, this block still comes down to us and the Champion’s League. Let’s go out there to win this fight tonight… but remember, a loss doesn’t mean we’re done. Save something for the fight with Black and his cronies. You’re no good to us if you completely blow your knee tonight and can’t fight the League in the final round.”

REBEL: “Don’t worry… I’m going to be just fine. Now let’s get out there and remind the world just what the Wyld Family name represents.”

***Alyssa nods and puts a hand on her brother’s shoulder as the scene fades to black.***
