La Nieve is wearing down

[Snow]

Scene opens in the weight lifting area of a local gym. Snow and La Nieve are seen, La Nieve limbering her wrists while Snow prepares a straight bar for her to lift.

SNOW: Ok. That's about right. A little less than you usually do, let's go with some high reps this time.

La Nieve nods, and drops back for the bench press session. She grasps the bar, takes a deep breath, and tries to lift the bar. After a moment of straining, she releases, shakes her head, and tries again, with the same result. After a long moment she releases the bar and sits up.

LA NIEVE: It's no use. I am completely exhausted. Mr. Black has me fighting on every show. Every house show. Every Battery. Every Assault. I know what he's doing, but it's no use. He's wearing me out so that I can't take on Mr. Beckett and win. Especially since he hasn't even been seen since my first match with Ms. Wyld. I mean...did you see my match with Mr. Ecks? I could have seriously hurt him, and that was just a moments disctraction. And the rest of AftermathX didn't even let me apologize afterwards.

SNOW: Well, that is chapter six in the Evil GM's for Dummies book. Get a pet champion and make sure they keep the belt at any cost.

There's a pause as both of them think about what was just said.

SNOW: Honestly, I should have expected this as soon as Beckett was reinstated. Black approved the original contract, and he would have had to approve the reinstatement. No matter who he was pretending to be, Black would have known who he really was. He's been planning these actions for some time. But that can't be your focus right now. You have a title match, and that's what needs to be your focus. And if you don't have the energy to train right now, then we should probably focus on watching some tape. Beckett has some tells and weaknesses I can show you.

LA NIEVE: That...that would be helpful. Thanks. But we'll need to look at Mr. Black and Mr. Lassiter too, for the match this week. A two-on-three match is just a way to take both of us out...we'll need to find weaknesses for all of them.

SNOW: That is a big ask. I've never beat Lassiter or Black, but we'll look at the tape and see what we can find, ok?

Snow holds out a hand to La Nieve, and helps her to her feet. The pair walk out as the camera fades to white.
