A Package Has Been Delivered

[Pennyworth]

Scene opens as Richard Pennyworth III is walking through the outside of his office, trailed by Terry Schneider. They're talking to each other quietly; the camera is on, but the microphone obviously hasn't been put on yet, as nothing can be picked up. They enter Pennyworth's office proper, and he sits behind his desk as a tech guy starts attaching the microphone to his tie. While that's going on, Pennyworth notices a package sitting on his desk. He picks it up in confusion as the microphone goes live.

PENNYWORTH: Sophie!? Where'd this package come from?

There is a mumbled response from off camera.

PENNYWORTH: Really? That's strange. I'm sorry, Terry. Give me just a couple minutes to take a look at this, it might be important.

Pennyworth rips open the package, which contains a large bundle of stapled together papers, with a single loose sheet at the top. As he reads over the loose sheet, his eyes go wide, and he starts mumbling under his breath. His movements become violent as he starts paging through the packs of paper now piled up on his desk.

PENNYWORTH: Apple. Disney. Exxon. 3M. Microsoft. Pfizer. FUCK! Sophie! Call down to the guys, tell them all trading must stop NOW.

There's another muffled response.

PENNYWORTH: I said NOW. We need to stop right now. No trading at all for the next thirty days, unless we can get this cleared up.

He pulls off the microphone in disgust, storming out of the room. This leaves Terry Schneider standing there looking at the camera in confusion. He picks up the loose sheet of paper and starts reading it out loud.

TERRY: Mr. Pennyworth. Please find enclosed some spoilers for the upcoming financial reports from some very important companies. These are all drafts, but you may take it on my authority that they are very close to what will actually be released by these companies. A wise man always stays one step ahead of his competition. Sincerely, S.

He looks at the camera again.

TERRY: Why is he so...oh. OHHH. That is devious.

The camera cuts off.
