Promos for Circus Maximus

*Macelroy steps out of a taxi, grabs his suitcase, and pays the fare, and heads under the cover at the entrance of the hotel. A bellhop comes over and offers to take his bag... and rams it into his gut. Down the stairs saunters Kevin Starr in a custom suit. He hands the bellhop a wad of cash, then smirks at the still-recovering Macelroy*

STARR: This is what you get, Mac. You're not taking what's mine. I gave you chance after chance to walk away and keep your career.

*Starr picks up Macelroy, and drags him over to the main stairway*

STARR: Just so you know, I liked you. You had a lot of fight in you. But you got ahead of yourself. Im just pushing you back.

*Starr suplexes Macelroy onto the stairs. Starr glares at Macelroy, then stalks back up to his suite*

***The scene opens backstage at the PWA Arena following last week’s Assault. Cassidy Cray is walking down the hall with his head down, rubbing the back of his head and looking conflicted. A hall door closes to his right, and he jumps and turns to face the door, looking anxious. Seeing it is nobody... he exhales and puts down his raised fist. He stops and shakes his head.***

CRAY: “Ugh... pull it together Cassidy. Manaj just got under your skin out there. Things got hot, but we’ve been through rough scrapes before. We’re brothers. Gotta just... meditate on this a bit.”

***Cray bows his head and takes in a deep breath. He holds it for a moment... and exhales slowly. Suddenly, from off-camera, Bokrug Manaj dives in and clubs him with a vicious double axe-handle to the back of the head. Cray careens forward into a stacked crate of shipping boxes. Manaj stands manically over him.***

MANAJ: “Meditation… yes… meditation will help you find your key, Cray. However, I suggest a method that is foreign to you. Tell me, Cray… have you ever tried meditation… through combat? Hehe… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!”

***Manaj drags Cray to his feet, clutches him by his belt and vest, and pinwheels him in a circle and sends him crashing into a table stacked with flyers and merchandise. Cray splays violently to the ground. He drags himself to his feet and wipes blood from his nose.***

CRAY: “What the HELL has gotten into you, you maniac?! Where do you get off...”

***Manaj jumps on him grabbing him by his lapels and begins shaking him back and forth violently.***

MANAJ: “Your precious balance cannot be restored through your normal, self-righteous means! True serenity may only be obtained through pure annihilation! Become one with Nothing! Let Nothing surround you and penetrate you! PEACE THROUGH DESTRUCTION!!!!”

***Cray screams in Manaj’s face and shoved him hard away from him.***

CRAY: “You’re insane you crazy bastard! Where do you get off attacking me?!”

***Cray dives at Manaj and rains punches down on his head and shoulders. He kicks Manaj in the stomach and gutwrenches him into a stack of chairs against the wall. Manaj stumbles to his feet and hits Cray with a stiff forearm in the head. The two begin trading blows. Finally, disheveled and bloody, Cray shoves Manaj away from him and to the ground. He stands over Manaj, breathing hard.***

CRAY: “That’s it... you and me... we’re settling this in the ring. At Circus Maximus, I’m gonna drag you through hell!”

***Manaj smiles manically through bloody teeth.***

MANAJ: “HAHAHAHA! The gateway to Hell may be found in my temple of barbed wire and blood! Circus Maximus, Cassidy Cray, is where you will find the pathway to Hell wide open and gaping for your very soul! Fear not, for I will walk this path with you! I will be your guide through Hell! I will show you true Enlightenment through desecreation!”

***Cray takes a step back and spits blood on the ground.***

CRAY: “Oh yeah... you better believe it. You want barbed wire? You want pain? Be careful what you ask for... because I’m sick and tired of you and your bullcrap. See you at Circus Maximus... brother.”

***Cray turns and stumbles down the hall away from Manaj, wiping blood from his nose as he walks. Manaj sneers a smile at Cray as he goes.***

MANAJ: “Mmmhmmmhmmmhehe! My brother! Hell is closer than you want to believe.”

(Jack Lane stands in front of a Circus Maximus on PPV banner with and intense look on his face. Lane paces back and forth and then looks into the camera.)


Lane: Pantaro....you were a little bit better than me the last time we met. I don’t like that one bit, man. I had the PWA Light Heavyweight title in my sights and it slipped through my fingers. I had to face all the top contenders in our division just to get a SHOT at the belt again. Me and Spencer Watts went through hell but I came out on top!

What does that mean? That means that I’m more focused than ever, Pantaro! All the fly chicks are gonna have to wait. All the interviews and promotional bits have to wait. Simply put man....I GOTTA BEAT YOU! You think you’ve seen the best of Jack Lane? You haven’t seen ANYTHING yet, homie!

When you’re the champ, you’re the measuring stick in the game. You’re the man to beat. Well that’s what I want to be. All the late nights, all the sacrifices I made to get here all point to this!

I’ll give you your props because you’ve held it down so far. You’re a legend in the game, no doubt. But now it’s time for the legend of Jack Lane as PWA Light Heavyweight champ to begin. I’m the best wrestler in the game today man. Not YOU, not Pennyworth, not Akira, not Bokrug....ME!! Now I’m gonna show the world just how good I can be!!

Circus Maximus is gonna be insane, the crowd’s gonna be insane....and I’m gonna be.....CHAMP!

(Scene fades to black.)

[Ameronth]

*Pantaro is seated in a locker room following an intense workout. He has a towel draped around his neck and is covered in sweat. Pantaro looks up at the camera.*

PANTARO: "Being a champion is always a great honor, and being PWA's Light Heavyweight champion this past season has been a glorious burden for me to carry. I have faced every challenger without wavering, met every combatant head-on, and I have emerged victorious every single time, without fail. Being a champion is a burden I bear proudly. When I am defending the title, I always give it everything I've got, no matter if I am injured or if anything is troubling my mind. Outside of the ring, I keep my behavior above reproach and strive to lead by example for my peers. I strive to be a champion PWA can be proud of. Being a champion does not come with days off or any special perks, not for me. I take no shortcuts, I bend no rules. And this approach has brought me victory after victory.

"Jack Lane, you have fire and spirit. You will need these things when you face me in the ring. But a champion is not all passion. You must have heart, fortitude, unbreakable will.
