Promos for Assault 15 September 2018

Post by Quillz » Sun Sep 02, 2018 9:02 pm

***Backstage, cameras catch up with Tiger Gold in the PWA trainer’s room shortly after the Sept. 1st edition of Assault. PWA interviewer Ronnie Stockholm approaches Tiger Gold as he sits on a bench unwrapping tape from his wrists.***

STOCKHOLM: “Tiger Gold, PWA fans just witnessed your surprise return after a nearly two month absence. Following your loss to Johnny Ecks earlier this season, rumors circulated that a series of nagging injuries would keep you out of action for at least the remainder of the season. And yet, tonight you stunned the world, coming to the aid of your bitter rival from last season, Brian Fury.”

GOLD: “Soemtimes destiny draws us down unexpected paths. A few months ago, I would not have imagined that the events that transpired tonight would have taken place. Heading into
the Rise of Kings, I had my sights set squarely on the PWA Heavyweight Championship. However, an unexpected injury produced a different fate... and forced Tiger Gold to chart a new and dangerous course. This season, I attempted to return from that setback too soon, and in doing so, I paid the price. For weeks I have sat on the sideline, unable to do the things that my warrior spirit demanded. I watched Robert MacElroy emerge as the new contender to Kevin Starr’s heavyweight crown. I stood by helplessly as old feuds we’re settled, new rivalries were kindled, and warriors etched their names in the tableau of history.”

***Tiger Gold stands stoically and raises a clenched fist.***

GOLD: “Patience does not come easily to a warrior born... but for weeks I was forced to do naught but wait and watch. And sometimes... contemplation brings clarity. As I sat idly by... I observed and considered what my first actions upon returning would be. It was here that I took special interest in the plight of Brian Fury. Last season in him, I found a kindred spirit. A warrior forged by combat. A blunt instrument made hard by a lifetime of uncompromising struggle. Brian Fury is a pure weapon of bare-knuckled justice that deserves to contest at the highest levels of this sport.”

***Tiger Gold slams his fist into his open palm.***

GOLD: “But this season, Nick Spoils and his unholy brood have robbed this primal gladiator of his focus and his combat-born right to fair competition. Through their heinous machinations, they have underhandedly overwhelmed a once-proud warrior. Furthermore, they have used their nefarious tactics to seize and hold fast a championship title that they do not possess the honor to represent properly. For weeks I watched these low men abuse the dignity of PWA. Well I say NO MORE.”

***Tiger Gold steps forward and flexes his mighty muscles.***

GOLD: “For the honor and glory of our ancestors above, I, Tiger Gold have returned from my exile. Tonight Nick Spoils, you experienced the righteous violence that a united Tiger Gold and Brian Fury can achieve. And let me tell you... this is only the beginning. Gird your loins Armageddon... for together, Brian Fury and Tiger Gold shall form a mighty tag-team. Witness as we pool our unmatched might and set off on a righteous quest. Tonight was the beginning of a journey. A glorious trek up a foreboding mountain. At the top of that mountain... rests the PWA Tag-Team Championship. Heaven help any who dare to stand in our path. Armageddon... steady yourselves... for DESTINY AWAITS!”

***Tiger Gold flexes mightily into a roaring lion pose and growls. Fade to black.***

Cameras catch up with the ‘former’ (?) PWA Derrick Arzon Champion after Assault...

Post by Quillz » Mon Sep 03, 2018 2:52 am

***As the scene opens, Junior Cobra is walking with his shoulders slumped, looking dejected, down the backstage halls of the PWA Arena after Assault. Next to him, Giant Anaconda keeps pace, one massive arm draped over Cobra’s diminitive shoulder for support. From off-camera, Ronnie Stockholm enters the frame with a microphone. He approaches the solemn-looking Coldsnakes.***

STOCKHOLM: “Junior Cobra, the fans at home would love to get a quick word with you about your... your...”

***Stockholm glances from the downtrodden Junior Cobra to the sullen Giant Anaconda.***

STOCKHOLM: “Uh... what uh... what’s wrong Junior Cobra? I would think that you’d be on top of the world after your performance tonight.”

***Cobra starts to speak... and then stops. He bites his knuckle and chokes back emotion. After a few moments, he exhales deeply and composed himself.***

COBRA: “You’ve got a sick sense of humor Sockholm. Can’t you see that I’ve hit rock bottom here? Two weeks ago at Assault Giant Anaconda and I lost our coveted PWA Tag-Team Championships to those dirty, two-faced cheaters Armageddon.”

STOCKHOLM: “You mean you lost your match FOR the tag titles. You were never the...”

***Cobra puts up a finger to Stockholm’s lips.***

COBRA: “Shhhh... enough of your verbal fellatio Ronald. Your words are sweet but there is no need to sugar coat things. We were on top of the world... undefeated champions defending our titles for a record fifth time...”

STOCKHOLM: “None of what you just said is true.”

COBRA: “...fake news. We were on top of the world... and then it all came crashing down. All because Anaconda forgot that when you do Twin Magic and hide under the ring... you shouldn’t do it when you are the legal man and the referee is staring directly at you.”

STOCKHOLM: “That was a baffling way to lose a fall I will admit.”

COBRA: “But all was not lost! Even though we had lost our coveted tag-team titles... we still had the one thing that mattered. The one true title of significance. We still had the ONE-AND-ONLY, often imitated but never duplicated, officially recognized, Derrick Arzon Championship.”

***Cobra swoons and is caught by the meaty hands of Giant Anaconda. Cobra puts a hand on his chest and breathes hard. After a moment he exhales dramatically and regains his footing.***

COBRA: “But now... I honestly don’t know how we can go on. I’ll give it to him... Snow is a hell of a competitor. I hope that he understands the responsibility he has inherited. That title has literal WEEKS of history that he has to live up to. It is my SINCERE hope that Snow will find a way to stand tall and maintain the impossible standard we set. May the Derrick Arzon Championship live on, buoyed up by my truly remarkable example.”

STOCKHOLM: “I.. um... don’t know what to say.”

COBRA: “What can ANYONE say at times like these Ron-Bon? All we can do is stand on our own two feet and try to move forward.”

STOCKHOLM: “Um... what I mean to say is... Junior Cobra, you do realize that you WON tonight don’t you?”

***Cobra stops crying and raises an eyebrow.***

COBRA: “Say what now?”

STOCKHOLM: “I can’t believe I’m saying this but... uh... you are STILL the Derrick Arzon Champion.”

COBRA: “I’m not following you.”

STOCKHOLM: “I’m as surprised as anybody. You actually won quite decisively.”

***Cobra stares blankly at Stockholm for several seconds.***

COBRA: “Huh. How you suppose that happened?”

STOCKHOLM: “Ugh... you were very oily out there. I don’t think Snow could get a grip on you.”

COBRA: “Heh... yeah I was wasn’t I?”

***Cobra looks down and strokes his chin with his gloved hand.***

COBRA: “Huh... so... you’re saying that I BEAT Snow tonight.”

STOCKHOLM: “Ugh... against all logic, it would appear so.”

COBRA: “Uh-huh, uh-huh. So THAT would mean that...”

STOCKHOLM: “Yes... you’re uh...still the ‘champ’... if you can call it that.”

COBRA: “WELL... YOU BET YOUR SEXY ASS I CAN CALL IT THAT! Once again, the FIERCE and DEADLY Coldsnakes have proven that they are the greatest force in the history of PWA! Not only are we the PWA Tag-Team Champions...”

STOCKHOLM: “...no you’re not...”

COBRA: “But we also hold the single greatest championship in the entire wrestling industry, the Derrick Arzon Championship! And as long as... as long as...”

***Cobra’s eyes dart back and forth at the ground around their feet.***

COBRA: “Oh crap-in-a-handbag, where the hell did we leave Derrick!? Was it in the ring? The locker room? Crap!”

***Anaconda scratches his head and shrugs.***

COBRA: “Come on big guy, we have to find him. I swear to god if some scalper on EBay is trying to sell Derrick again I’m gonna be so mad. The last time this happened it cost us nearly half our twenties to buy him back. Let’s go!”

***Cobra and Anaconda push clumsily past Stockholm and go bounding down the hallway. Stockholm just shrugs and shakes his head. Fade to black.***

Ronnie Stockholm interviews Akira Wyld backstage...

Post by Quillz » Tue Sep 04, 2018 5:35 pm

***The scene opens in the hallways of PWA Arena following the Sept. 1st Assault. The wrestler locker room opens up and Akira Wyld pokes his head out. He narrows his eyes and scans the hallway before quietly slipping out, a gym bag over one shoulder. A portion of what appears to be a pair of shiny blue and gold tights can be seen poking out from the bag. Akira closes the door quietly behind him and makes his way down the hall... before being surprised from behind by PWA Reporter Ronnie Stockholm.***

STOCKHOLM: “Mr. Wyld, could we get a quick word with you about...”

WYLD: “Gah!! Dammit Stockholm how are you everywhere at once backstage?!”

STOCKHOLM: “Sorry to surprise you Mr. Wyld. But... I must say it is somewhat surprising that you’re here at all. You weren’t scheduled for a match tonight... what’s that you have in your bag there?”

***Wyld snatches the bag up and away from Stockholm’s prying eyes.***

WYLD: “It’s none of your damn business what I keep in my bag. And as for why I’m here... well I just stopped by to scout Richard Pennyworth’s match tonight. Heard he was facing a real technical up and comer and I wanted to see how he did against some stiff competition. Turns out I shouldn’t have bothered. Pennyworth got his tail kicked. That Johnny Malibu though... that kid might have a future here. He’s one to keep an eye on. Now if you’ll excuse me Stockholm... I have someone important I’m meeting with.”

STOCKHOLM: “Mr. Wyld... Akira. You can’t be serious. Everyone in attendance tonight knew perfectly well who was under that mask facing Pennyworth. You didn’t fool anybody out there.”

WYLD: “Stockholm... I’d say I was insulted by your BASELESS insinuation, but this is all really just par for the course here in PWA isn’t it? Every time something bad happens to one of Damion Black’s Yacht Club buddies, I’m the one to blame. Well it just so happens that I have an ironclad alibi tonight. I couldn’t have been in the ring. I was busy negotiating a business arrangement with my manager Barthalamew Beckett while the match was going on. He can vouch for me.”

STOCKHOLM: “Of course... your paid consultant Mr. Beckett can vouch for you.”

WYLD: “Yes that’s what I said, are you deaf? Mr. Beckett is a man of impeccable character. I can vouch for him on that.”

STOCKHOLM: “You can vouch...? Wait a minute. I thought you said you were here to scout Pennyworth in his match. How could you have been doing that while having a closed-door meeting with Brawler Beckett?”

WYLD: “Please... I could tell in minutes that Malibu had that match in the bag. I didn’t need to stay for the entire match.”

STOCKHOLM: “You’re story is full of holes Akira. You expect the fans at home to believe...”

WYLD: “Shut up Stockholm, my appointment has arrived...”

***Suddenly, a wrestler in a blue and gold luchador mask steps into frame. Akira Wyld throws an arm over his shoulder. Wyld is clearly a couple of inches taller and darker skinned than the stocky masked man. Stockholm’s eyes dart back and forth between the two men in confusion. Wyld slaps Johnny Malibu on the chest. Malibu nods and gives a thumbs up.***

WYLD: “After his stellar performance embarrassing Dick Pennyworth, I just knew I had to meet the one and only Johnny Malibu. He’s clearly a future champion in this business.”

***Wyld looks Malibu in the eye and nods.***

WYLD: “I’ll admit it Stockholm. Johnny Malibu is a handsome guy and a smooth operator. He clearly knows how to get it done in the ring. I can see how you’d get us confused. Anyway, I’d like to buy this slugger a steak in celebration of his win. Even if it was against a scrub like Pennyworth. If you’ll excuse us...”

***Wyld and Malibu push past Ronnie Stockholm and head down the hallway. Stockholm puts his hands on his hips and shakes his head in disbelief.***

Cassidy Cray meditates on his future...

Post by Quillz » Wed Sep 05, 2018 6:28 pm

***The scene opens in the bohemian lair of Cassidy Cray. The Pinfall Wizard sits with the end of a long and decorative water pipe balanced delicately between his fingers. His long hair blows wistfully around his head. Mirror sunglasses adorn his stubbled face. His expression is uncharacteristically blank. He exhales a long and deliberate stream of vapor from his pursed lips.***

CRAY: “A Tale of Two Cities... by Charles Dickens.”

***Cray leans forward on the pile of pillows he uses as a throne.***

CRAY: “It was the best of times... it was the worst of times. It was an age of wisdom... it was an age of foolishness. It was the epoch of belief... it was the epoch of incredulity. It was a season of light... it was a season of darkness. It was the spring of hope... it was the winter of dispair.”

***Cray stands solemnly and looks down at his ringed hands.***

CRAY: “We had everything before us... we had NOTHING before us.”

***Cray takes one more long drag from his hookah and lets it clatter to the floor.***

CRAY: “Wise words from an immortal poet... words that feel a little too relevant given recent... revelations.”

***Cray puts his hand to his forehead and rubs his temple wearily.***

CRAY: “Alpha Omega has always been a union of DUALITY. The yin and the yang... the light and the dark. Our dichotomy was always our STRENGTH. Last season we came within a millisecond of claiming our rightful spot as PWA’s premier tag-team. However... after witnessing a tale of two wrestlers at the most recent PWA Assault... I have to wonder if my brother Bokrug Manaj and I may have taken this metaphor of duality a step too far. At Assault, I witnessed a glorious match between two unparalleled athletes. My dark compatriot took the PWA Light Heavyweight Champion Pantaro the the absolute limit in a breathtaking 2/3 falls match that will be remembered for years to come. Though he fell short of winning a hard fought championship... he showed himself to be a competitor of the highest order... one of the all time great talents in this sport.***

***Cray stares off into the distance and exhales deeply.***

CRAY: “While I on the other hand... was brought low in HUMILIATING fashion by a PWA rookie barely out of the gates. It was a tale of two souls on opposing paths. The alpha and the omega... the beginning... and the end.”

***Cray smiles humorlessly at the ground.***

CRAY: “You know... it’s funny. When we named ourselves Alpha Omega... I thought I knew which of those two terms represented me. It seems I may have been wrong. Maybe... just maybe... this little journey of ours has been a little misguided. After all this I wonder... might one of us be just... holding the other back.”

***Cray steps back to his throne of pillows and sighs. He then sits down in a cross legged pose and closes his eyes.***

CRAY: “Gonna have to meditate on this awhile... seek clarity from within.”

***Cray lowers his head... as the scene fades to black.***

Backstage with Brian Fury following PWA Assault...

Post by BG05 » Thu Sep 06, 2018 3:08 pm

(Brian Fury is standing in the locker room of the PWA Arena minutes after PWA Assault has concluded. Fury has a blood soaked bandage wrapped around his head and blood on his jeans. A cameraman points the camera at Fury as he speaks.)

Fury: I’m just as surprised as everyone else about what happened a few moments ago. I BEAT Nakamura like I said I would and then Spoils and his crew did a number on me again. I’ve been in situations like this before but this time it felt different. I’ve never seen Nick Spoils so angry before. All this stuff between me and him seems to be wearing on him and he looked like he had enough. If I’m honest, I thought that my career might be coming to an end. Three of the most dangerous men in all of wrestling had me pinned down and things didn’t look so good.

All of a sudden Tiger Gold came out and for a minute I didn’t know who’s side he was on but he came to my aid. He didn’t have to do that. Doctors have been telling him to take it easy and recover but he put his neck on the line for me! When he stuck his hand out to seal the deal it made me realize that I may have been a little too proud for my own good. I’m used to getting the job done on my own, MY WAY.....but they say two is better than one. To get to Nick Spoils it might take just a little bit more than me to get there.

(Fury looks intently into the camera.)

Fury: Tiger Gold, I just want to say thanks for stepping in like that! I looked around in the back to find you but I was told that you were already gone. A team of Brian Fury and Tiger Gold would shake PWA right down to its core, brother! I know we could take out Armageddon if we worked together.

(Fury rips off his bandage and blood begins to pour down his face as he snarls at the camera.)

Fury: Spoils, you just made the biggest mistake of your life. Now you don’t have just me gunning for you but Tiger Gold is on the hunt as well! When we get together, when we team up, and when we get Armageddon in the ring.....there’s gonna be hell to pay! I won’t stop until you’re out of PWA for good. You can leave the tag team titles with PWA’s newest tag team.....Brian Fury and Tiger Gold!!

(Scene fades to black.)

Welcome to PART 1 of ‘The Wyld Legacy’... a PWA Rewind special event!

Post by Quillz » Mon Sep 10, 2018 6:57 pm

***Scene opens to a montage of images chronicling the storied history of the Wyld Wrestling Family. The montage is set to an inspirational orchestral soundtrack.***

ANNOUNCER: “Welcome to a very special episode of PWA Rewind, where we will be taking a look back at the history and lasting legacy of the world-famous Wyld Wrestling Family. Over the course of the next several episodes we will revisit the life and career of the legendary Greco Wyld, and the impact that he and his famous wrestling school have had on our industry over the past four decades.”

***The montage cycles through black and white images of a young Greco Wyld locked in combat in the squared circle against a who’s who of famous and influential grapplers from generations past.***

ANNOUNCER: “Beginning with his early career in the Northwest independent territories, and continuing as he grew to super-stardom, winning world championships in the IWF, ICW, and becoming only the second person to unify the WWC and CWC world titles, we will explore the lasting impact that Greco Wyld has had on the professional wrestling landscape and an entire generation of athletes.”

***Grainy video of a young Greco Wyld wrestling with his siblings plays on the screen.***

ANNOUNCER: “Growing up in a peaceful suburban community in the Pacific Northwest, Greco Wyld was the fourth of five brothers. His father, the coach of a respected local high school wrestling squad, indoctrinated Greco and his brothers into the world of mat wrestling from an early age. As a standout high school and college wrestler, Greco spent years on the amateur stage, honing the fundamental mat skills that would serve him so well in the coming years.”

***Footage from an old IWF broadcast is shown. A young Greco Wyld, dark haired and stoutly built, is in the ring, wearing his signature navy blue and silver wrestling gear. Next to him is a slightly taller, muscularly build man in matching tights. The two men look very similar. They are squaring off against a masked tag-team. One of the members of which appears to be a young but already seasoned Tiger Gold, who is proudly wearing the IWF tag-team title around his waist.***

ANNOUNCER: “Greco Wyld burst onto the professional wrestling scene in 1978, first arriving with his older brother Aldo as an up and coming tag-team known as the Wyld Ones. Though the brothers never did win IWF tag-team gold, it was clear even at this early stage that Greco Wyld had a natural aptitude as a sound ring technician. Fans quickly took to the young and handsome up-and-comer, and the charismatic duo quickly found themselves operating near the top of the card at live events all throughout the territory.”

***Shaky hand-camera footage is shown of a singles match featuring Aldo Wyld and a tall, young ponytailed wrestler. They are outside the ring, and the floor mats have been pulled aside.***

ANNOUNCER: “Unfortunately, the Wyld Ones’ path to tag-team glory was cut short due to a tragic, career-ending injury sustained by Aldo Wyld at an non-televised live event in Sacramento.”

***The footage shows the tall, ponytailed wrestler lift Aldo Wyld into a high-angle implant DDT directly onto the exposed concrete floor outside the ring.***

ANNOUNCER: “Aldo had been called in as a last minute replacement for an injured competitor, against a young Nemesis Rex. After suffering a devastating Unkindest Cut outside the ring, Aldo was diagnosed with a severe concussion. Though he would recover, the resulting trauma marked an early end to a promising career.”

***Still images are shown of Greco Wyld helping Aldo through physical therapy in a sterile-looking gymnasium.***

ANNOUNCER: “Following his brother’s injury, Greco Wyld left professional wrestling for the first time. With Aldo unable to compete, the Wyld brothers turned their attention to training. In the year following Aldo’s injury, the Wyld Brothers opened up the first Wyld Wrestling and Athletic Center, a gym and training facility for aspiring professional wrestlers. For the first time, the Wyld Family turned a career-changing setback into an opportunity... and laid the foundation for one of the greatest wrestling legacies the industry has ever seen.”

***A still image is shown of Greco Wyld hoisting the WWC and CWC championship belts high over his head in a packed stadium of fans.***

ANNOUNCER: “However... this would not mark the end of Greco Wyld’s in-ring career. While his brother’s time in the limelight was over... Greco’s career was just beginning. Join us next time as we explore Greco Wyld’s dramatic return to the ring and his rise to championship glory. All that and more... on the next episode of PWA Rewind.”

***Fade to black.***

Regarding Johnny Malibu

Post by Pennyworth » Tue Sep 11, 2018 3:08 am

Pennyworth steps out of the locker room after his match on Assault, dressed impeccably in a three-piece suit. He is adjusting a fine gold watch when Terry Schneider walks up holding a microphone.

TERRY: Mr. Pennyworth, may...

Pennyworth holds up one finger, stopping Terry's questioning in its tracks. He finishes adjusting his watch. He then reaches out for the microphone, which Terry hands over.

PENNYWORTH: Thank you, Terry. But it's fairly obvious to me what questions you were going to ask. You were going to ask about my match tonight with this so-called Johnny Malibu. You were going to ask about his co-opting Akira Wyld's moves. You were going to ask about whether or not I believed I was actually facing Akira Wyld tonight.

Pennyworth pauses, staring right at the camera.

PENNYWORTH: The truth is, Terry, that I lost tonight. Whether Johnny Malibu was Akira Wyld or not matters ONLY if I'm willing to make excuses for my loss. Yes, it's true that I was expecting a relative rookie. Yes, I was expecting more of a luchadore style from the masked man. Yes, it's hard to understand how this man could have slipped through the cracks to get a contract with PWA if he was made up like it seems. But all that would just be excuses, and the fact of the matter is, that I lost. Johnny Malibu, whether he was Akira Wyld or his own man, got into my head. He...he found a weakness in my game. A weakness I will clean up and resolve before we face each other again.

Right here, right now, I am calling out Johnny Malibu. I want to face him in the ring again, and this time, I'll be ready for him. Akira Wyld will not be in my head again, and I'll tell you why, Terry. Because he's going to be at ringside where I know where he is. And if, somehow, Johnny can't make this match? Well...Akira, you and I both know that when I'm ready for you, I've got your number. That's why you have to play these games. Because you can't beat me.

Thanks for the time, Terry.

For the Derrik Arzon Championship...

Post by Snow » Tue Sep 11, 2018 3:14 am

Backstage, Snow catches up with Junior Cobra.

SNOW: “Sigh... I congratulate you on your win Cobra. I just hope that perhaps this experience has taught you to treat Derrick Arzon a little more humanely.”

COBRA: “NOPE! It’s caught me a bit heaping helping of nothing soup because I already know all there is to know about everything and nothing I do has consequences! Whooo!!”

SNOW: “Ugh... I did not want to have to resort to this but... since the very life of Derrick Arzon is at stake...”

COBRA: “What’s up Snowflake? You gonna go home and cry into your Pantaro shaped body-pillow over your loss?!”

SNOW: “No... no I was just going to... ask when I would actually get my title shot.”

COBRA: “What?! What do you mean?? You just did!”

SNOW: “Cobra... I thought you said that this was a real and legitimate PWA title.”

COBRA: “It is!”

SNOW: “Well... of course you know all PWA Championships are contested in 2/3 falls matches. Seeing as this is clearly a real and not at all made up and ridiculous thing... doesn’t that mean we need to have a 2 out of 3 falls match?”

COBRA: “Um... well... uh... YOU BET YOUR ASS we do! Cause this is a real thing! So you name the time and place Frostbite! I’ll kick your tail one more time and cement my name in the ANALS of history!”

SNOW: “Um... that’s... annals, not...”

COBRA: “Huh? What did I say?”

Interview with Mr. B. Beckett

Post by Stu » Tue Sep 11, 2018 3:20 am

Ronnie Stockholm: Two weeks ago, Akira suffered a stunning loss in a tag team match against Richard Pennyworth and Lance Steamer. What are your thoughts on that match and how will your rebound from such a defeat?

Mr. Beckett: Rebound? Stunning defeat? Did you witness the same match I did, love?

In the first place, it was more a brawl than a wrestling match. That is why Nakamura was there. I advised against it, but Akira insisted that was the best course of action, considering that I am ineligible. Nakamura is a loose-canon; formidable in the ring, but not someone apt to apply team-work, so despite his contribution, Akira essentially took part in a handicap match, one that was stacked against him. And, of course, it was Nakamura who was pinned, not Akira, so where you get this "stunning defeat" nonsense is beyond my comprehension.

Ronnie Stockholm: Is there a working relationship or agreement between Akira Wyld and Nick Spoils?

Mr. Beckett: I suppose there's little point in preserving secrecy any longer, even though it is all quite legal and purely business. There is a legal business relationship between myself and Mr. Wylde. There has been for a few months now. I am his manager. He focuses on the ring, I handle the details: money, matches, merchandise, travel arrangements, and so forth. Beyond that ... I suppose if it were anyone else's business, I'd tell you.

Ronnie Stockholm: What are your thoughts on the heavyweight division at this point?

Mr. Beckett: My thoughts on the heavyweight division? Well, it is certainly better than at any other promotion. We have here at PWA the finest talent, great competitors one and all. I would use our roster as the measure for the field of professional wrestling in the world today.

The problem ... the problem is not the roster. Starr is championship material, MacElroy is a relentless competitor. The problem is, as in most businesses, nepotism, favoritism. Akira Wilde should be in the top spot, at least as number one competitor, but he refuses to play the games of the management, just as I did, and so is passed over until he either renders unto Caesar what Caesar believes is his due, or ... remind me, what happened to Caesar at the Senate?

Ronnie Stockholm: Recently, Damion Black has revealed that he has not retired from wrestling and in fact holds a championship for a different promotion. Thoughts?

Mr. Beckett: I seem to recall a wise man once having said something about a man's inability to serve two masters. I think Black is letting his ego think for him. I think it shows in his business practices. I think time will bear out that he is not capable of competing in one company, running another, and then competing in his own, all simultaneously.

You know he will return to the ring, don't you? He misses the glory, he misses his youth, his ego needs to be masturbated. He doesn't truly care about that other promotion, he is using it as a gym. Mark me, when he is done with it, or it is done with him, he will begin to compete here. Then we will see how far his favoritism and his loyalty goes.

Ronnie Stockholm: Do you believe Damion Black is still the source of all of your problems?

Mr. Beckett: You'd have to be blind or a fool to believe otherwise.

Ronnie Stockholm: Onto more current events. It seemed obvious to everyone that Johnny Malibu was really Akira Wyld under a mask, but we later saw Akira and Johnny Malibu, who did not appear as tall as he did in the ring earlier, together. Yet, they share a very similar, almost identical wrestling style and move arsenal. What is your explanation for this?

Mr. Beckett: I noted no size difference, but then I saw both men close up. From the ring, from the camera, dimensions can obviously be, inadvertently, misconstrued. However, a man of intelligence will recognize this and not cling to his initial mistake. The proof is seeing them side-by-side, of course.

Mr. Malibu’s wrestling style … is eclectic, and as a young man he is still finding himself in the ring. Yes, he emulated many of Mr. Wylde’s signature manoeuvres, but rather than use that to back baseless accusations against one great athlete and take away from the great young talent that Malibu is, I rather think that he should be praised for his dedication and skill. It is no mean feat to pull off those moves with the level of proficiency he displayed. Malibu is a man with a bright future, indeed.

Rage Boiling Over

Post by Nick Spoils » Tue Sep 11, 2018 3:31 am

Backstage, Armageddon, Nakamura, and Nick Spoils are found in a darkened corner of the arena. Broken debris lies everywhere, as Nick furiously slams the barbed wire bat into a corner of the wall, sending splinters everywhere. Yamasaki Nakamura is calmly lounging in another corner, chewing on what looks like a piece of a table, while Gehenna and Ragnarok are working together to drag in more objects for Spoils to destroy. The most recent object appears to be a completely full keg of beer, probably from a storage area for the bar upstairs. As Ragnarok sets it us, Spoils lets out a primal scream and starts tearing into it. Ragnarok and Gehenna look at each other carefully, then Gehenna steps up and physically grabs the camera recording everything.

GEHENNA: I am not loud man. I do talking in ring. Brian Fury, he loud. He angry. He...fail. Tonight, he was to end. Tiger Gold, you take that away. This, you shouldn't have done.

Ragnarok pushes into the screen talking over Gehenna in obviously angry Russian.

RAGNAROK: Tiger Gold, вы совершили ужасную ошибку. Я тебя уничтожу!

GEHENNA: My friend, he angry. Me, I angry. Nakamura...Nakamura never angry. But he crazy. Nick Spoils...

Gehenna turns to look back at Spoils. By this point, there are numerous holes in the keg, and beer is spraying everywhere. At the mention of his name, Spoils turns, and notices the camera for the first time. He tosses the bat an Nakamura, and steps up to join Gehenna.

SPOILS: Fury, I warned you not to step into the ring with us again. Apparently your time in the ring has made you a bit dense. And now...and now, Tiger Gold has seen fit to stick his nose in my business. Gold, you always talk of honor. And yet, you interfere in my PERSONAL business with Brian Fury. Well, so be it. Gold, if you would face the wrath of Armageddon, of Nakamura, and of Nick Spoils, we can certainly oblige. So next Assault, get your broken ass into the ring, so that Ragnarok can put you back on injured reserve where your tired old body belongs. And if he doesn't finish the deed, Gehenna here is chomping at the bit to rip your head off too. Do you dare face the wrath of Armageddon? Nobody who stands in our way will survive. I warned Fury multiple times, Gold. You'll only get the once. Back the hell off, or your long illustrious career will come to it's end.
