GARY BLOOMFIELD: "Ladies and gentlemen, by now most of you know that The Spoiler III and Marty Dinkle were attacked by an irate Robert MacElroy just before tonight's scheduled main event on Assault. Both MacElroy and Spoiler fought into the back of the arena, where several attempts were made to break the two men up. We have the footage of their altercation backstage and we will show it to you, but first we must advise you the following content is graphic and may not be suitable for all viewers."



*** Damage has clearly been done to both sides, now. In the backstage halls, security have been summoned and are trying to break up the two men, but can not get close enough. Both men are bleeding from various cuts and lacerations, ROBERT MACELROY and THE SPOILER III now each brandishing a steel chair, as much to ward away security as to threaten each other.

Several wrestlers have joined security, some trying to get close enough to stop the two, others trying to keep people back to let them finish it. The two men suddenly charge each other, chairs clapping into their shoulders. At that moment, wrestlers and security rush in to try and pull them apart. They get the men separated and are dragging them away from each other when MacElroy slips his captors’ grip and ploughs into the Spoiler, knocking the masked man down along with everyone who was straining against him! It turns into another brawl, wherein the Spoiler finally gets in a shot and enough leverage to shove MacElroy back and down to the concrete. Nearly blind from the blood seeping out from his mask, the Spoiler grabs a nearby security officer, lifts him bodily, and throws him at the Scot, who knocks aside the unfortunate fellow, leaving him open to the Spoiler’s own spear! Down they go again, now being dogpiled by security and the locker room.

Finally, after a few minutes of this, the two spent and bleeding antagonists are pulled apart, both nearly unconscious from the ordeal. The other wrestlers, exhausted though not nearly so, finally pick them up and start carrying them in opposite directions. The only one left standing there, among a few security officers, is MARTY DINKLE. He has lost his hat, his smashed cigar still clutched in his teeth, two broken pieces of cane in his hands, his favorite pea-green suit torn up.

MARTY DINKLE: “... I … I … I’ll … sue … ? No … no … I need … I need a drink …” ***



GARY BLOOMFIELD: "It is clear that this situation has become very personal for Robert MacElroy and now The Spoiler. As of this time, PWA officials have not released a statement regarding the altercation or any disciplinary action regarding the actions of Robert MacElroy or The Spoiler. Stay tuned to PWA as this situation develops."

***The ref slaps the mat for three and signals to the time keeper to ring the bell. The crowd explodes as Victor Sokolov violently powers out of the small package and quickly regains his footing. Rebel rolls to his back and heaves for breath. George Prescott rolls into the ring and immediately begins jawing angrily with Bill White. The Siberian Psychopath stalks back and forth in the ring like a caged animal.***

ANNOUNCER: “Ladies and Gentlemen... the winner of this contest... and winner of the Sokolov Open Challenge... REBEL WYLD!”

***Sokolov’s crazed gaze shoots from Wyld to Prescott to the raucous crowd. Prescott puts his hands on his hips and looks around disgustedly. Prescott shoves the belt into Sokolov’s hands and motions for him to leave the ring. On the ground, Rebel rolls to his knees and tries to stand, but is unable to. Sokolov sees Rebel struggling and a blank, emotionless look sweeps over his face. He walks to the injured Wyld and drops the heavyweight title between them. Wyld sees the belt fall to the mat in front of him. He looks up at Sokolov... and Sokolov just stares down at him, his eyes as cold as ice.”

SOKOLOV: “...try and take.”

***Rebel glares up at Sokolov. Without breaking eye contact he reaches out and puts a hand on the belt. Sokolov quickly steps down on Rebel’s wrist, pinning him painfully to the ground. Without lifting his foot, the Russian reaches down and slowly lifts the belt and places it over his own shoulder. Prescott walks over confidently and stands by the champion. After a pause, Sokolov lifts his foot and takes a step back. Rebel stays on one knee, panting. He shakes the hand Viktor pinned and clenches it open and closed several times, expelling the pain and bringing blood back into his fingers. Rebel looks up at Sokolov with an intense glare. He pounds that same fist into the mat and … slowly… rises to his feet, never taking his eyes off of the Siberian Psychopath. Rebel widens is stance slightly to steady himself. He rolls his shoulders back and lifts his chin slightly, proud and defiant in the face of the heavyweight champion. The two stare at each other for a long moment as the crowd goes wild. Then, Sokolov turns his back on Wyld and deliberately steps through the ropes and makes his way out of the ring and down the entrance ramp, leaving Rebel in the ring staring at his back.***
