Akira Wyld vs. The Masked Shooter: SUBMISSION MATCH

***The scene opens backstage at PWA Assault. Akira Wyld is standing backstage as he prepares to head to the ring for his match with The Masked Shooter. He slowly wraps tape around his wrists as he paces back and forth.***
AKIRA: “Ever since Uncle Aldo… ‘The Masked Shooter’ found himself in the sights of Damion Black I feel like the world has been so obsessed with his career ending that they’ve lost sight of one important fact. The Masked Shooter is one of the finest in-ring technicians the world has ever seen. He can stretch a mat six ways to Sunday. He can step into any ring in the world and pull the best match of the night out of any competitor he faces. Week in and week out, The Shooter has taken the best of the best of PWA to school, tapping out men twice his size and taking the greatest competitors in PWA to their limits. People have been so focused on how much longer he can go that they have forgotten that he’s here RIGHT NOW, beating the best this organization has to offer.”
***Akira bites off his wrist tape and cracks his neck.***
AKIRA: “Well, tonight I think it’s time the world remembered just how good The Masked Shooter is. Tonight… I’d like to direct your attention to that squared circle out there. Because in just a few short hours, The Masked Shooter will be stepping into the ring with The Surgical Specialist in an old-fashioned SUBMISSION match. That means that two of the biggest names in wrestling’s most decorated family will be going toe-to-toe in a match where the only way to win is to make your opponent TAP OUT. This won’t be the first time The Shooter and I have stretched the hell out of each other in a ring… but it will be the first time it’s happened in PWA. So keep your eyes peeled fans, because we plan on teaching you all a thing or two about old-school grit. A thing or two about ligament twisting, muscle tearing, bone snapping joint manipulation. A thing or two about how you honor your sport and your profession by laying it all on the line, live and in front of a sold-out capacity crowd.”
***Akira shakes his head.***
AKIRA: “You know… normally this is where I’d be making a proclamation about winning and reminding the world just how good the Surgical Specialist is. But… I wasn’t born yesterday. Stepping in the ring with The Masked Shooter means fighting for your life. And I know I’ve got the tools to bring the legend down… but only a fool stares down a man like that and makes bold claims. Here’s what I will promise you though… win lose or draw… we are both going to leave it all in the ring. We are both going to give you a clinic in wrestling excellence. And before the night is up… one of us is going to tap out.”
***Akira stares seriously at the camera… and then smiles slyly. The scene fades to black.***
