Akira Wyld’s final words to Johnny Ecks before King of Deathmatch...

***Akira Wyld stands backstage in front of a black and silver King of Deathmatch backdrop. He has the NWC World Championship draped over one shoulder. He paces back and forth as water drips from his silver hair. He takes a deep breath and turns to face the camera. His expression is intense and serious.***

AKIRA: “Twenty years is a long time. Entire careers can be measured in that span. Cities are built and ideologies fall in shorter lengths than that. For TWENTY YEARS, the lives of Johnny Ecks and Akira Wyld have been circling each other. From PWS to PWA to iNCW, our careers have been in step with each other at very turn.”

***Akira makes a fist and tenses his arm.***

AKIRA: “Johnny... we’ve been discussed in the same breath by analysts and commentators. We’ve been compared and contrasted and paralleled... and yet, somehow for the past two decades, we have never ONCE faced each other in singles competition in any promotion. That’s because everything that’s come before has lead to tonight. Fate kept us apart, and now it’s brought us together on the biggest stage PWA has ever seen.”

***Akira raises his belt and holds it up to the camera.***

AKIRA: “This is the NWC World Championship. This title represents three of the most influential and respected wrestling promotions in the world. To be the NWC Champion is to be the best of the best of the best. Tonight, for the first time ever, you and I will meet one-on-one in the ring... and we will fight for the honor of being the standard-bearer for this industry.”

***Akira begins pacing again.***

AKIRA: “We’ve been at war all season. Our friends... our FAMILIES have fought tooth and nail in support of this one, ultimate goal. We’ve bled... we’ve struggled... we’ve gone through hell trying to one-up each other. But tonight we leave all of that behind. Tonight, the Wyld Family, AMX, and even Damion Black step aside... and we do battle. The time for talking is over. Tonight, we find out who truly is the icon, and who is the imitation. Tonight one of our stars will rise, and the other will fall. Tonight is about pride. It’s about passion. It’s about the greatest title in all of professional wrestling. Tonight is EVERYTHNG. ***Akira Wyld’s music hits and the champion slings his NWC title over his shoulder and walks down the hall toward the ring.***
