Last words before PWA Black

We are backstage before PWA: Black, where Terry Schneider has caught up to the challenger for the PWA Light Heavyweight Championship, La Nieve.

TERRY: La Nieve, how are you feeling going into your title match tonight?

LA NIEVE: Well, Mr. Schneider. I must admit this whole situation is quite strange, almost overwhelming. I haven't been here long, and to be honest, I didn't get off to the best start. To now be fighting for the Light Heavyweight Championship? It is surreal.

TERRY: I assume you are prepared for tonight? How do you think you'll do tonight?

LA NIEVE: I am as prepared as I am going to be. I have watched all of Mr. Beckett's tape, going back to his time overseas. I have one of the best mentors in the business. I've trained hard, I've worked hard, and I have a solid gameplan. Now all that is left is to execute.

TERRY: Now, La Nieve, some would say that Damion Black has been showing some favoritism towards the PWA Light Heavyweight Champion Brawler Beckett. Do you have any words about that?

LA NIEVE: I don't think it falls to me or anyone else to be putting words into Mr. Black's mouth. He has claimed that he has just been doing me a favor, giving me time to get my feet under me, while simultaneously preventing Mr. Beckett from staying sharp and loose. I don't think I find that claim very believable, but I cannot read his mind. I will say, however, that Mr. Black's actions this season have put Mr. Beckett into a very unenviable position.

TERRY: How so?

LA NIEVE: Think about it. Mr. Beckett has found himself in a lose-lose situation. Should I prevail tonight, and walk out of PWA: Black as the Light Heavyweight Champion, obviously, Mr. Beckett loses the title he never earned in the first place. But if Mr. Beckett were to win, all anybody would be able to talk about is how he needed a full season's worth of matches for his opponent while he rested in the spa to defeat her. He felt the need to wear down his opponent because he wasn't confident enough in his own abilities. Make no mistake, my gender will be brought up as well. People will forget that I put my own name in the ring to earn this shot -- all they'll see and talk about is how Mr. Black hand-picked his champion, gave him the belt in a match against an already exhausted champion to claim it. And then, for his first defense, picked a woman for him to defend it against, ran her ragged for four months, and then threw her in there against a completely rested so-called champion. A successful defense for Mr. Beckett tonight is just more ammunition for his detractors to use against him. Detractors like Ms. Wyld and Mr. Watts, for instance. No, whether he retains tonight or not, Mr. Beckett is in for a long off-season of naysaying.

As she's finishing up, Snow walks into frame, patting her on the back. They exchange a few low words in Spanish.

SNOW: I'm proud of you, hija. You'll be great tonight. Following right in my footsteps.

TERRY: Speaking of challengers for titles, Snow, you and Pantaro are slated to take on the Tag Team Champions Alpha Omega tonight. Can you speak to that opportunity?

SNOW: Certainly, Terry. This was obviously a last minute replacement match after the confrontations between Samoan Storm and Armageddon, but Pantaro and I leaped at the opportunity, so to speak. Alpha Omega have been great champions, but their attitude could use a little help, if you don't mind me saying. Tonight, though, the Blood Brothers are going to give them everything they can handle -- and then, hopefully, just a little bit more. We've both held the PWA Light Heavyweight Championship -- now it's time for us to unite and have another reign as tag champs.

TERRY: Well, good luck to both of you, as well as Pantaro, tonight. I'll leave you to it.

LA NIEVE: Actually, Mr. Schneider, if you don't mind? I have one more thing I'd like to say.

TERRY: Uh, certainly.

LA NIEVE: I would like to directly address Mr. Ecks. This has been on my mind for weeks, but I haven't had the opportunity to speak to you since our match. I sincerely apologize for my unsafe maneuver in that match. It put you in far more danger than you should have been, and any time you spent in medical afterwards is completely my fault. Please know that it was never my intention to cause you pain, and I hope you can forgive my mistake.

LA NIEVE: Thank you, Mr. Schneider. Have a good evening.

TERRY: Thanks to you, and to Snow. Two incredible matches on the card for tonight, folks. Stay tuned!
