Scene opens on a table and three chairs. The middle rests behind a podium bristling with microphones, while those on the flanks contains a single microphone each. Nick Spoils enters, dressed in a three piece suit, followed by Gehenna and Nakamura Yamasaki, both also dressed to the nines. Spoils settles himself in the middle seat, while his clients take the seats on either side.
SPOILS: Thank you all for coming today. I have a brief statement regarding the Union, and will not be taking questions.
SPOILS: At the last Assault, myself and these two men beside me sent a statement. Akira Wyld was obviously the primary recipient of that statement, but it goes out to the PWA as a whole. But I've seen others questioning us, questioning the Union. So then, here is that same statement but in words for all of you who don't understand actions.
SPOILS: When the Union was founded, we had a common interest. A common goal. The management of PWA, to wit, Damion Black, had created an environment that was mistreating its employees, showing favoritism, and creating unsafe work situations. We stepped in and formed the Union. As with any Union in this country, we fought for our fellow employees. We staged protests to highlight the mistreatment that had been received. We sought to better the work like for all involved. Some favorites of the management did decide that we weren't speaking for them -- as with all such scenarios, those who had been receiving better treatment realize that others might get the same as them and they won't be above others any longer. Such men exist in any uprising, but they were swiftly taken care of.
SPOILS: But then, the other cancer that all unions eventually have to deal with reared its ugly head. A cancer called corruption. Our own Jimmy Hoffa was a man named Akira Wyld. Wyld started using the Union for his own ends. He saw it not as a driving force to improve conditions in PWA, but as a means to further his own career. His first mistake was putting the World Championship on the line to try to take over PWA. An admirable goal, and one I shared, but the match was a mistake. I advised him of that, but Akira and I didn't see eye to eye.
SPOILS: After he lost that match, though, Akira snapped. He stopped listening to advice from anyone. And it didn't help that the rest of his family joined PWA. Rather than focusing on the Union's goals, he started focusing on his own goals. He had to prove to Rebel, to Alyssa, and to Nikki that he was the best. He needed a championship, and he was going to do absolutely anything he could to get one. I...WE tried to talk sense into him. But then, he went and made a deal that kept the Union out of the Heavyweight title picture. Behind my back, behind our back. And then he made the exact same stipulation for the World title. Piece by piece, Akira Wyld hurt the Union. Hurt PWA. And for what? What gains did The Union make? What gains did PWA employees see?
SPOILS: In a word? None.
SPOILS: Which brings us to the last episode. Akira Wyld made one final idiotic decision. He spoke of his failings, of his weaknesses, to the world. Had he done it behind closed doors, where we could discuss strategy and forge a path forwards, nobody would have ever known. He would remain our leader, the Union would be on our way to bigger and better things. Instead, he weakened the Union even more. Hurt our cause. There was only one thing left to do. The boys and I held a quick vote of no confidence, and we ousted Akira from his leadership position. We made him pay HIS dues.
SPOILS: The Union is Dead. Long Live the Union. We are now under new leadership. Akira Wyld, Brawler Beckett -- should you decide you believe more in the cause than in your own petty vendettas, we will gladly bring you back into the fold. The same goes for any PWA member who agrees with us, and wants to see a better PWA. Come to us, and we will welcome you in. A union is only as strong as its members, after all, and the more who see what we see, the better.
SPOILS: But make NO mistake. Spoils, Beckett, whoever. If you join the Union, know one thing -- *I* am in charge. There is no more division at the top. No more two strong personalities trying to subtly show the other they're in charge. In this Union, in my Union? I am the boss.
SPOILS: Now, at the next Assault, PWA management has booked Akira and Beckett against my boys Gehenna and Nakamura. Surprise, surprise. Taking advantage of a division in the ranks to try to destroy that which threatens their position. We'll fight, don't you worry about that. We are PWA employees after all, and that's what we are paid to do. But the end result of that match makes no difference to my offer.
SPOILS: PWA, the Union is still here. We are now stronger than ever, and with a driving goal. Join us, be defeated by us, or get out of our way. Those are your only three options. Make your choices wisely.
SPOILS: Thank you, that will be all.
