From Union to Factions

***The scene opens backstage at the PWA Arena. Brawler Beckett is pacing angrily back and forth in the locker room. A sullen and distant-looking Akira Wyld sits on the bench beside him looking off into the middle distance. Beckett has a disgusted and angry look on his face and he bangs on a nearby locker.***


BECKETT: *under his breath* " … mess … bloody mess, it is. I miss one evening because of that brat, Arse-wand, and Spoils … lives entirely up to his name in grand fashion." *sighs and turns to Akira* "Maybe this is yet salvageable. We are clearly being manipulated by-"

AKIRA: "Salvageable? Beckett, they beat the hell out of me! Spoils had his boys run me through the ringer. I’m lucky I’m not in the hospital now!”

BB: "But... maybe this is just a misunderstanding. If we just talk to him, we can get this cleared away. Look, let me-"

AW: "No, Beckett! Don’t you get it? That was a calculated, planned attack. They waited until you were gone, and as soon as they saw their opening, they struck like snakes. Spoils made his decision.”

BB: "But we are so close, SO CLOSE to taking over, so close to making Black squeal! He is the enemy, here-"

***Akira stands and turns to Beckett.***

AW: “Listen... this... this whole thing with Black. I let it take over my life. This whole mess with Spoils would never have happened if I’d just kept my head on straight. But that all changes now. Spoils is going to regret betraying me... betraying US like that. This Union thing started with you and me. And now, it’s up to US to finish it. I need to know you have my back on this Beckett.”

***Brawler Beckett glares down at the floor, takes a deep breath, then looks up with a new resolve in his eyes.***

BB: “You're right. Damn it all to Hell and back again, you're right, Akira. They had a great run in our illustrious company, no doubt, but it has come time to clean house. We've been out politicked, but not out wrestled. Let's go show those traitorous bastards what they've just done to themselves."

***Beckett claps Wyld on the shoulder and walks out behind him … glaring …***
