Scene opens into a richly appointed and obviously private gym, where Pennyworth is in the midst of a set of lifts. He has somehow gotten Terry Schneider to spot for him, and the reporter looks quite nervous, trying to juggle a microphone with making sure the bar doesn't drop too heavily.
PENNYWORTH: I'm telling you, Terry. I think I've been working harder for this match than I have for any of the others. Don't get me wrong, Akira, Tiger, Starr -- they're all worthy competitors. But Fury...he's a beast. The man had open calls for tapout or knockout matches. Where the only way to lose was to get knocked out or to give up. That's toughness right there. That's what I'm facing this week. That's what I have to prepare for.
He rests the bar, and sits up. Terry breathes a sigh of relief and moves around the weight bench. He opens his mouth to ask a question, but Pennyworth interrupts him.
PENNYWORTH: Here's the thing. There are two singles matches left in this tournament. Nobody yet has more than 4 wins, but I have two. At this point, I could still get onto the top of the standings if I get a little help. Rhett Holiday has had even more troubles than I have with the competition, so that is definitely winnable with training. But even before I get there, I still have to take down Fury. But if I'm going to get him up and into the Money Clip, I have to work on my strength. And that's what I've been doing. That way, at Assault, I can take down the master of the Tapout or Knockout. At Assault, I get Fury to submit. That's all there is to it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some left lifts to do.
