TERRY SCHNEIDER: “Ladies and gentlemen, I am Terry Schneider of PWA, here with a special report on an altercation that happened immediately following this week’s PWA Battery, involving the Masked Shooter and the recently ruthless Spencer Watts. I should warn you that … this footage includes some graphic content.”
*** cut scene to the back area, a space in the arena where the arena’s walkways come within a dozen paces or so of the halls that lead to the separate locker rooms. Here, Terry Schneider and a cameraman are speaking to a very irritated ROBERT MACELROY. ***
TS: “... about your apparent reluctance to sign with Dinkle International Enterprises.”
ROBERT MACELROY: “Theyrrre’s no reluctance to it, man. He’s been inurrrferrring wi’ my life and my business, and Aye’ve had it! Tha naext time Aye see tha Dink ourrr any of his lads, Aye-”
*** a loud, metallic “Bang!” echoes from further down the hall! The camera whips about to find SPENCER WATTS, steel chair clattering to the floor, grabbing a stunned MASKED SHOOTER and slamming him face-first into the wall twice, then sends the masked wrestler to the floor with a Russian leg-sweep! Watts springs to his feet, delivering a savage kick to Shooter’s midsection as MacElroy charges in, but Watts snatches the steel chair and throws it at the charging Scot, catching him full in the face!
Watts turns his attention back to the downed veteran, continuing the size-12 boot-tap to the guts, when RONNIE LASSITER grabs hold of him and throws the attacker into the opposite wall. Rather than continue his own offensive, however, Lassiter simply stands, ready to fight, between Watts and Shooter. ***
SPENCER WATTS: "“You shoulda stayed gone old man! I’ll send your ass out to pasture myself!”
RONNIE LASSITER: "Buzz-off, Spencer. You're out of your weight class."
*** MacElroy regains his feet, an ugly gash in his face where the chair struck him. The Masked Shooter unsteadily gets to his feet, his mask drenched with blood that is now oozing down his chest. ***
SW: "It's coming, old man. Everyone knows … it's coming."
*** Watts backs away a few steps, the turns with contempt and walks away. Lassiter turns to the Shooter to check his face, but the veteran shoves the bigger man out of the way with a surprising burst of energy. He lunges forward, held back by Lassiter and MacElroy. ***
