GOLD: “The world has changed much during my long and winding warrior’s journey. The hearts of men have fallen sway to avarice and gluttony. The spirit of the warrior hides deep in these troubled times.”
***Tiger Gold flexes his mighty muscles and breathes deep of the dusk air.***
GOLD: “There was a time, not long ago, that I questioned my place in such a world. I called to the wisdom of my ancestors to tell me if, perhaps, the time of the warrior had passed, and it was my destiny to fade into the tapestry of history.”
***Gold raises his head and growls into the wind.***
GOLD: “But then I witnessed the ascension of the mighty Ronnie Lassiter to the PWA’s Heavyweight throne. I watched as he battled my immortal brother-in-arms Brian Fury in a climactic battle for gold and glory. What I witnessed in that match disturbed my immortal soul. As my mighty tag-team partner Brian Fury fell... I witnessed the rise of a truly terrifying force in professional wrestling. With a might and will that I have not witnessed in an eon... Ronnie Lassiter claimed crown and throne in legendary fashion.”
***Gold looks down and makes a fist.***
GOLD: “But at what cost? What has Ronnie Lassiter’s quest for immortality cost him? What might his boundless ambition yet cost all of PWA? Damion Black is a powerful, dark individual. Ronnie Lassiter stands entranced by gold. His light has been bent to questionable will. This cannot be the fate of PWA. There must be a reckoning. And until the heart and soul of PWA has been set right... Tiger Gold cannot rest.”
***Tiger Gold steps away from the edge and puts his back to the sunset.***
GOLD: “So I face a new season in Prestige Wrestling. Wherever there is conflict, the warrior spirit dwells. Tiger Gold shall enter the den of the beast... and shall face his destiny. So prepare yourself PWA... for destiny...”
***Tiger Gold stops mid sentence as he catches something out of the corner of his eye. He looks off camera to his left. The camera pans over, revealing Mighty Cobra and Mighty Anaconda poised on the edge of the building in heroic poses just a few yards to the left of where Gold had just been standing. Still posing, Cobra turns to face Gold.***
COBRA: “Ah yes... the city. Winds of change and destiny and such, amiright?”
GOLD: “...”
COBRA: “Like you said... wherever villainy is and such. That’s... that’s where we’re gonna be. Heroes like you. Heroes like US. Fighting for what’s right in a world that doesn’t...”
GOLD: “Have you two been standing there this whole time?”
COBRA: “Nah man... we just got here like, two minutes ago. We reserved the roof for heroic brooding from 6:30-7:15 but, hey man it’s a big roof. Plenty of room for both of us to crusade for justice in a world that has lost all hope.”
GOLD: “...”
COBRA: “...”
GOLD: “...the new perspective you are providing me with makes me suddenly very seriously question my methods.”
COBRA: “Smell the acrid odor of malfeasance. Somewhere out there, injustice just cut one. And the Coldsnakes are the Lysol spray of justice that the city cries out for.”
GOLD: “I’m... I’m going to leave now. Your methodology and greasy appearance dishonor the fighting spirit of my ancestors. Please don’t follow me.”
***Tiger Gold strides toward the exit with his head down.***
COBRA: “Another successful heroic team-up for the Mighty Coldsnakes.”
