***The scene opens somewhere backstage at the PWA Arena. Akira Wyld paces back and forth in front of a blue and silver curtain. He is wearing his signature leather jacket and has his blue and silver wrapped kendo stick slung over his left shoulder like a sword scabbard. Over his right shoulder sits the newly minted NWC championship belt. He rubs the belt with his taped fingers as he paces. After a few moments, he stops and turns toward the camera.***

WYLD: “Tiger Fury… listen up you unhinged low-life. Take that stupid mask off your face, clean out your ears, and listen good to what I’m about to tell you… because I don’t like giving compliments to glorified street thugs like you and I don’t intend to repeat myself.”

***Akira drags the finger of his free hand through his hair and scowls at the camera.***

WYLD: “For two seasons, you and I have been jockeying to be the face of this miserable company. When people think of names synonymous with the competition and aggression that make this organization what it is… they think FURY and WYLD. When we met for the first time in the Rise of Kings heavyweight championship tournament in season one, we set the bar for what PWA is all about. And now… in the King of Deathmatch tournament, we meet again.”

***Akira looks down at the NWC Championship belt and lets out a slow breath.***

WYLD: “Tiger Fury… you are the most dangerous, unpredictable monster I have ever stepped in the ring with. Every time you lace boots you bring pain and devastation to everything in your path. These are facts. Without question… YOU are the man to beat in this tournament.”

***Akira turns back to the camera and gives a sly smile.***

WYLD: “Now I’m not a charitable man Fury. I don’t give a damn about stroking that oversized ego of yours. I just want you to know that when I step into the ring with you I do it knowing exactly what I’m getting myself into. I’ve seen the monster at his best and I’ve put him down! You may have beaten me the last time we met… but that was before THIS.”

***Akira holds up the NWC Championship belt to the camera.***

WYLD: “This season in PWA I am unbeatable! For the past four weeks, the Union has been making a mockery of every superstar on the PWA roster! We retired Richard Pennyworth. We beat Tiger Gold within an inch of his life. We humbled Kevin Starr. Each and every man that stands up to the Union ends up staring at the lights. You won’t be any different. We could have broken you any time we wanted this season. We pick our spots… and yours is this week at Assault! I am the NWC World Champion Tiger Fury! NOT YOU! They say the cream always rises and after three long seasons, AKIRA WYLD is the face of PWA! I’ll be damned if I’m going to let a street fighter like you beat me on my first outing as the NWC Champion. This weekend at Assault, I’m knocking you out of the King of Deathmatch tournament! I’m taking one more step toward cementing my legacy as the man to beat in PWA! This week at Assault is going to be your night of reckoning. Tiger Fury is the PAST… and Akira Wyld is the FUTURE! And there isn’t a damn thing you… or ANYONE in PWA can do about it!”

***Akira takes a step forward and thrusts the NWC championship into the camera lens shoving it over and onto its side. The picture goes to static, and then fades to black.***

The Imperial rebuttal

(The scene opens with The Imperial Assassin in deep meditation. He he his eyes closed and is breathing in and out slowly. As the camera zooms in his eyes slowly open and he has a stern look on his face.)

Assassin: It has come to my attention that The Masked Shooter thinks that I am avoiding him. Nothing could be further from the truth! Your American HERO is nothing more than a coward. There is a reason that The Masked Shooter won’t step in the ring with me. A reason I didn’t feel the need to divulge until now....

You see, many years ago as I was competing in Japan I had the opportunity to wrestle John “The Falcon” Phillips. He was a good wrestler from America and also a good friend of The Masked Shooter. When I got in the ring with Phillips I wanted to leave no doubt who the better man was. Phillips was tough, a good wrestler with great technique but I was better than him. I was able to apply my claw hold, The Asian Spike, and he passed out. But I wanted to send a message to The Masked Shooter. I was told by winning this match that I would get to face him next so I kept Phillips in that hold until they pulled me off. Phillips never wrestled again!!

(The Imperial Assassin laughs under his breath.)

Assassin: So you see, The Masked Shooter KNOWS what will happen if he chooses to face me in the ring and he chooses to hide. He couldn’t save Phillips and he won’t be able to save Lassiter from my pupil! Crusher Sato is the most dominant heavyweight in professional wrestling and he will DESTROY Rhett Holiday at Assault just as I destroyed “Falcon” Phillips! All of this is on YOUR head Masked Shooter!!

(The Imperial Assassin pauses and raises a finger.)

Assassin: There is ONE way out of this for you Masked Shooter..... sign to face me at the upcoming pay-per-view! I have left a signed contract with Damion Black with my name on it to face you in ANY match of your choice! All you have to do is sign the contract!! Every week that you don’t sign someone will get hurt just like Phillips and it will be YOUR FAULT just like it was the last time!

The clock is ticking Shooter...and you don’t have much time left!

(The scene fades to black.)

Snow sits on the top turnbuckle of the ring at his training facility. He stares straight at the camera.

SNOW: AMX, I speak three languages fluently, and I still have no idea what you are talking about half the time. I did make out the word Snow in your last syllable mangling, however, so I assume you were talking about me, and I assume you were talking about what happened at the last Assault.

Plain and simple, what you did was a travesty. Pantaro and I were putting on a match for the ages. A true classic. Top-flight entertainment. And then, you two clowns had to show up and ruin in. The attack was cowardly and spineless, but THAT is water under the bridge compared to ruining the match.

He pauses, scratching his head for a bit before continuing.

SNOW: Now, Jai, I understand where you are coming from. New man on the block, having been on the shelf for a while, wanting to make a big splash. I get it, I do. But the plain and simple fact of the matter is, my friend, that in PWA, you don't yet deserve a thing. You don't deserve the applause. You don't deserve the spotlight, you don't deserve the main event, and you SURE as hell don't deserve a title shot. You've had two matches in this company. Sure, you won the first one, and put a big pin next to your name saying that you had the potential to be one of the best. But that is it. That is all you have accomplished thus far, other than putting a stain on your reputation and ruining a match of the year candidate.

And the pure fact of the matter is, you had a shot at leapfrogging me and taking the next title shot. You failed. I'm next, and you're not. Win or lose on Assault, that's not going to change. So, my recommendation to you, Jai, is this. You leave Johnny outside of the ring, and I'll leave Pantaro outside. We do this simply and honorably, and we have a damned good match. Then, you back off until I get my title shot. Then, and only then, you throw your hat in the ring again, so to speak. Play nice, and you'll get your shot. That's the way the Light Heavyweight division works. Earn your spot, Jai.

Or continue interfering and attacking legitimate contenders, and be thrust to the back of the line. It's your call.

Tiger Fury is ready for Akira Wyld

(The scene opens in a locker room. Tiger Fury stands with his hands taped and muscles glistening. Fury paces back and forth as he begins to speak.)

Fury: At the next Assault I get to face Akira Wyld. Now this SHOULD be about who is the better wrestler. He beat me at the first Assault and I beat him in the heavyweight tournament so we’re even. I turned on the TV the other night and saw him win the NWC World Title. As much as I hate his guts I have to give him credit for going into a hostile situation and coming out on top. When you put him in the ring with me GREATNESS is what we should be talking about!

(Tiger Fury stops pacing, looks in the camera, and shakes his head.)

Fury: Instead we have to talk about what a lowlife Akira has become since he joined up with The Union! Akira and his goons attacked my partner Tiger Gold and had him injured pretty bad. Gold’s a proud man and when he found out that we had a tag team title shot he didn’t want to let the fans down. We had our match and we could have won but I basically had to CARRY Tiger Gold that night all because of Akira Wyld!

(Tiger Fury’s voice rises as he begins to tremble with anger.)

Fury: When I found out that he and I were meeting in a barbed wire match I called Damion Black and asked him if I would get suspended for the beating I put on Akira and he said no. I asked him what would happen if I smashed light bulbs over Akira’s head and he said nothing! I asked him what would happen if I dragged Akira’s face all around the top rope that’s covered in barbed wire and he said nothing! I asked what would happen if I powerbombed Akira over the top rope onto a board of barbed wire and Black said that was LEGAL!!

(Tiger Fury points at the camera and stares intensely.)

Fury: Akira, I’m gonna make you pay for costing me gold! I’m gonna make you pay for hurting my partner! At Assault I’m gonna carve you up real good and whatever is left of you won’t be able to defend that NWC title! As a matter of fact, I’ll put you on notice now that I’m coming to TAKE that title from you! So Akira, at Assault you can bring The Union, you can bring your NWC title, and you can even bring your kendo stick.....

(Tiger Fury puts both fists in front of him.)

......all I need are THESE!!!

Camera opens on KB Kronic strolling through a junkyard.

"Nakamura Yamasaki vs KB Kronic..."

KB tosses a pipe further into the heap of junk as he looks for new 'toys'..

"The Divine Psycho from the land of the Rising Sun. You eat glass, you wrap yourself in barbed wire, and you do some top notch crazy shit."

KB picks up post with concrete on the end and places it on a cart he's now pulling behind him.

"And yet for all that, you're still just a flash in the pan. All sizzle and no steak as a wise man once said say. Bruh, you're just another roadblock on my way to the top. Sure we may have this deal with the NWC and I gotta put my professional face on but rest assured Yamasaki, I'm gonna do to you what I shoulda done to Black in that conference room."

KB picks up a rusted chainsaw blade from inside a car tire and a broken handle of an axe. With a big smile he throws them on the cart.

"Every match is a small preview for what's gonna happen once I win the Death Match tournament! I get in the ring with a PWA guy, I let the PWA guy do what he does, then I crush his dreams, burn his face, and shave years off his career right before my hand is raised in victory!"

KB piles more 'toys' on the cart.

"You should have finished iNCW when you boys had the chance... Now I gotta give PWA and Damion Black the receipt."

***The scene opens backstage at the iNCW Arena in Seattle Washington shortly after the conclusion of the special attraction NWC Championship triple threat match. A PWA camera crew waits in the hallway outside the wrestlers’ locker room.***

STOCKHOLM: “Wrestling fans, I’m Ronnie Stockholm and I’m standing backstage at this historic, first-ever, NWC tri-promotional championship event. As you’ve just seen, the National Wrestling Council has just made sports entertainment history by crowning it’s first NWC World Champion. And ladies and gentlemen, that champion is none other than PWA’s own Surgical Specialist Akira Wyld.”

STOCKHOLM: “For those of you who only follow PWA weekly programming, this prestigious new championship title will exist in tandem with Prestige Wrestling’s existing heavy and light heavyweight championships, and will be defended across promotions around the world, proving that the high caliber of PWA talent transcends promotional boundaries. This is truly a landmark day for the Prestige Wrestling Association... and for Akira Wyld. Hopefully we will be able to... wait a minute, ladies and gentlemen here he comes. The first ever NWC World Champion, the Surgical Specialist, Akira Wyld!”

***From camera right, an out of breath, sweat covered Akira Wyld enters the frame. The beautiful NWC Championship belt is draped over his shoulder.***

STOCKHOLM: “Akira Wyld... congratulations on your hard fought victory for this historic championship. What do you have to say to the PWA fans who have followed your journey all these years?”

***Wyld slaps the belt with his hand and smiles through gritted teeth. After taking a moment to catch his breath, he grabs the microphone from Stockholm and turns to face the camera, a wild look in his eyes.***

WYLD: “What do I have to say Stockholm? What do I have to say?? I have to say... that indisputably.... irrefutably... no asterisks needed... love it or hate it... Akira Wyld is on top of the world! The Surgical Specialist is THE recognized, top-shelf world heavyweight champion of the top three major promotions in this business!”

***Wyld slings the gold belt off his shoulder and grips it tight in both hands. He looks down at it with wide, glistening eyes.***

WYLD: “Stockholm... I’ve been up and down this road for sixteen years. From the six-man scramble highs to the no mercy lows. From GWSW to IWF to SHAFT to PWA... and without a doubt... I can say that THIS belt right here... this TITLE... this MANTLE OF EXCELLENCE... is the single greatest honor of my career. You may hate me... you may not agree with the path I took to get here. But it doesn’t matter! Because THIS TITLE in my hands proves that I am everything I ever said I was.”

***Wyld thrusts the title high in the air and locks eyes with the camera.***

STOCKHOLM: “Akira Wyld, for the past several weeks you and your partners in the Union have been terrorizing PWA. What does this shocking change in the status quo mean for the Union and your goals in Prestige Wrestling?”

***Wyld lowers the belt and smiles a toothy grin.***

WYLD: “All in good time Stockholm. Tonight... we celebrate. Tomorrow, the REAL work begins. Get ready PWA... because after tonight... nothing will ever be the same again.”

***Wyld kisses the NWC championship and marches triumphantly off camera. Fade to black.***

Cobra, that snake fool, keep our titles warm for us fools, cuz we gunnin for yah fools too!

Mj1: yo B, you think that snakemang will hold on to those belts while Akira and his cronies are around.

Ecks: f*** those fools. He got beat by a girl last time I saw him wrestle. He may have one a belt, but he ain't sh*t as far as I am concerned. Besides, his sister is the hotter one anyways.

Mj1: yo B, don't tell me the Heartthrob Kid is smitten with lady Akira, B.

Ecks: shaddap! Your face foo! Yo let's go fool!

Mj1: foo! You don't call me no foo, yah foo! Naw mean B?!

Ecks: let us bounce.

*** TERRY SCHNEIDER sits in the interview room with THE MASKED SHOOTER, who is dressed in a gray three-piece suit and his ever present mask. The background of the room is dimly lit, the stage lights illuminating only the two seated. ***

TERRY SCHNEIDER: “Hello, ladies and gentlemen, this is Terry Schneider here with, well, a living legend, the Masked Shooter. He’s competed around the world, held championships wherever he’s gone, trained a series of fine young athletes, and has recently returned to compete again himself. Sir, thank you for joining me here today.”

THE MASKED SHOOTER: “Glad to be here, Terry.”

TS: “Now, along with your personal return, you’ve brought with you a break-out athlete in Ronnie Lassiter, a big, powerful young man who has a lot of promise.”

MS: “Ronnie is very powerful, and he could easily have fallen into the trap of restricting himself to power-wrestling, but he also has sense enough to pay attention to technique. I’m proud of how he’s been coming along.”

TS: “How long have you been training him?”

MS: “Ronnie’s been a trained athlete most of his life, amature wrestling, track and field, football, powerlifting, but he started training with me about three years ago. He started like everyone else, making all the usual mistakes, but there was a fire in him that you could see right off. My training and guidance may have helped, but it wouldn’t mean a thing without that fire. I don’t think it’s far fetched to say that we have a future champion in Ronnie Lassiter.”

TS: “Not far fetched at all, however, he has recently become a target, along with yourself, of two wrestlers most recently from Japan.”

MS: “Crusher Sato is formidable, that’s plain, but I have every confidence in that he’s not a match for Ronnie. An obstacle, maybe, but not a match. I’ve seen bruisers and thugs come and go, and none of them have the stomach for the long-play. He thinks he’s got Ronnie’s number; he’s sorely mistaken.”

TS: “And what about the Imperial Assassin?”

MS: “What about him?”

TS: “Well, the Assassin has made the accusation that you- “

MS: “That I’m what?”

TS: “Uh … well, that you seem to be … somewhat … intimidated by the prospect of facing him in the ring.”

MS: “M-hm.” *** The masked man pauses, then turns to face the camera directly.*** “Imperial Assassin, this is to you direct. For the past ten years or so, you’ve been talkin’ a lot of dreck about me. My only fault is that I haven’t answered you before this, but by that same token, you have yet to say a damned thing to my face. You’ve been here, what, three weeks now? And haven’t been able to find anything but a camera to talk to? Bullsh*t! I left Japan when I did for my own reasons! They had nothing to do with you, no matter what your ego may tell you! I don’t give a hoot in Hell for you or your opinion.

"The fact is, you don't deserve to be in the squared circle, either. You earned your nickname all too well. You don't go in to out-compete, to out-wrestle. You go in as an assassin, a common hit-man. You aim to cripple, to end careers, to permanently handicap good athletes. You cheapen and shame the greatest sport in history with your presence, and I refuse to give you the consideration of a fellow professional wrestler, because you are not one, nor will you ever be!"

TERRY SCHNEIDER: "Ladies and gentlemen what an upset, first in yet another main event disruption by the Union, then in the retaliation by some of PWA's finest, and here they come now, 'Lightning' Derrick Arzon, 'The Natural' Kevin Starr, and current reigning PWA Heavyweight Champion 'The Hard Man' Robert MacElroy! Gentlemen, what just happened out there?"

ROBERT MACELROY: "What happ'ned oot theerre, Tearry, was tew-fold! Fearrst, tha open challenge tha' I 'ave insteated was violated by a gang o' damned jobbies who cannae hold a championship wi'out a pearrr o' suspendurrs, forr thaa bealts elude them time an' again! So what's forr it? Villainy! Chaep-shots! Worse yet, cowarrdly acts tha' arre hid behind mock-righteous wearrds tha' speak of fearr play!

"Secon', t'was made clearr tha' thas pack o' bullies will nae go wi'out opposition! Dearrick 'ere, wearrthy man that he is, was cheated out o' his fearr shot, I was cheated out of a guid match me'seal! Tha's tew against fourr, an' heald ourr grouind we did! Thaen, frrom tha lockerroom comes thas one, Kaevin Starr, a champion in his own rrright, also wearry o' tha saelf-righteous injustace o' these brrrigands!"

*** STARR takes hold of the mic. ***

STARR: "More than weary, Mac. I've been where those boys have been. I felt like this whole company owed me something because of who I am, and I was willing to do anything to prove that. And you know where that got me? It got me in the middle of that ring, losing the championship to this man right here. And now I see these guys out here going the exact same way, and I get to thinking, 'so that's where I went wrong.' So for me, this is about redemption. This is about me going out there, doing it right this time, and helping some brothers out."

*** ARZON steps to the center and gets the mic. ***

DERRIK: "You wanna talk about a brotherhood? Right here, man, THIS is a brotherhood! Because you see, brothers don't try to get their way by intimidation and numbers. Brothers watch each other's backs and keep each other honest! Brother Starr, thank you for watching my back tonight! Brother Mac, thank you for the opportunity of wrestling a champion and proving my worth! As for you, Union, you wanna talk about paying dues? Well, come collect, fellas, if you can!"

*** MAC takes the mic again. **

MAC: “At’s as simple as thas: wha’ ye see ‘ere arre compeditorrs, lads! We’rrre ‘erre te prruve who’s tha baest wrrestlurrr ‘erre among us! But if you brrriggands want tae brrawl i’stead, if ye want a fight, ye’ve got at! Ye want a warrr wi’ tha likes o’ us, at’s a warrr ye’ve got!”

And besides, not only is Pantaro and Snow our targets, there is still a certain snakeman that has to pay for a certain Jannie Ecks, gettin hurt and all. And now, they got gold bro. GOLD! I wants me some of that shiny gold status man. Yah feel me?!

Mj1: I hear you. B. I can dig all that. That is a lot of hardware to carry, B! You think we can win it all?

Ecks: Not only do I think, we can win it all, we will win it all. Coldsnakes, we comin for you! Ninjas!

Mj1: yo they ninjas ,b?!

Ecks: wait wha?! Nah man. It's an expression man! Like when Hagger D called out Ax Duggan back in the days. I will never forget that moment, look it up, it's on youtube! Hagger D calls Ax Duggan a ninja!

Mj1: yo B?! You mean that Hagger D called him an nword. That was hilarity B! And Hagger had to turn his back to the camera and you could see scheme gene tryna be all pro and shit. Pure comedy gold, B!

Ecks: fa real yo. So we got your boys pantherman and jack frost, let us hope they got the message this time amigo!

Mj1: yo B for reals! Let us get outta here before them union boys start shit with us.

Ecks: seriously.

Scene fades to black as the aMx are seen getting in their car to take off.
