A Mental Game

SNOW: "It's the challenge of a lifetime. Friend against friend. To be victorious in the end, one must put aside the years of friendship. Must put aside the time training together. Must look past the familiarity and cooperation. For one night, for one match, you must treat your friend as a bitter enemy.

So it is at Assault that I must forget the Blood Brothers. I must forget that Pantaro is my friend. I msut assume that he will be as devious as Brawler Beckett. That he will be as skilled as Kris Stone. And that he will do everything in his power to retain that championship belt. And then I must rise above all of that to defeat him. Not once, but twice.

And if I can do that, then I have proven that I am the best. If I can do what no one else has been able to do, I will prove that I deserve to be the champion. And when the time comes, and the bell has rung to say that I have proven myself, then, and only then, can our friendship return.

This challenge isn't so much a physical one. I know I can defeate Pantaro. I've done it before, and undoubtedly will do it again at other times. I also know he can defeat me. This challenge is one of the mind. Can I overcome the history, the legacy between us?

Amigo, I think I can. I am ready. Are you?

Still searching for The Masked Shooter

( Crusher Sato stands with his arms folded staring into the camera. Sato is wearing his ring attire and a white Tokyo T-shirt. The Imperial Assassin stands in front of a PWA Assault backdrop shirtless beside Sato and in his ring gear. The Imperial Assassin has a microphone in hand and speaks.)

Assassin: Last week at the PWA Arena after years of waiting I was finally able to compete in The United States.....and I was robbed! I tried to come in with an open mind, I tried to play by your rules....but no more! I faced Rhett Holiday and he had me in his finishing armlock hold. My left leg was CLEARLY over the bottom rope and even while in the hold I had the presence of mind to wave the referee over but he claimed that I TAPPED OUT! IMPOSSIBLE!!

(The Imperial Assassin narrows his eyes and continues to speak.)

Assassin: As angry as I was about that it just made me realize that now I will have to let my pupil, Crusher Sato, loose on all of the wrestlers in PWA. Sato defeated Rex Camelot and will destroy anyone in his path, even your champion Robert MacElroy! MacElroy....DON’T issue challenges that you cannot meet. Sato would be MORE than happy to face you anytime, anywhere!!

After that travesty that happened to me I got Sato and told him that we needed to make a statement here in PWA and we went after Ronnie Lassiter. Lassiter is tough....BUT he can be broken. HE WILL BE BROKEN!! And when this all takes place the man responsible will The Masked Shooter!

(The Imperial Assassin’s voice rises as he stares the camera.)

Assassin: Masked Shooter, Sato and I have a match on the next Assault. You watch the match and see what will happen to our opponents. Whatever happens in now on your head. At Assault we will prove that Japan is SUPERIOR to America and that WE are superior to the American cowards Ronnie Lassiter and The Masked Shooter.

(The Imperial Assassin points to the camera)

Assassin: I thought you were a MAN Shooter but perhaps I was wrong. Maybe you should change your colors from white to YELLOW.....

(Sato swats the camera and it his the ground and goes to static.)

(Gary Bloomfield sits at a reporting desk with a "this just in" sheet of paper in his hand. At the bottom of the screen scrolls: "Former NWCW Champion, Lance 'The Seattle Superman' Polanski has been hospitalized this evening. The champ fell ill during a public appearance in Berwyn, NC. Details as yet are not known, but the Polanski family are asking for the fans' prayers. PWA's Damion Black has extended the hopes for his well-being on behalf of the PWA athletes and staff ...")

BLOOMFIELD: "The PWA Heavyweight Champion, Robert "Hard Man" MacElroy, has issued today a statement today that he will accept all comers in the ring. He has declared that, as a fighting champion, he feels it is his duty to defend the title, and thus the honor of PWA, every time he enters the ring in one-on-one competition. What this will mean for the PWA title, and who will be the first to accept the challenge, remains to be seen. When asked if there was anyone in particular he looked forward to facing, his accent proved too thick to be comprehensible. More as these events develop."
