DAMION BLACK: “It has come to light that athletes contracted under Prestige Wrestling Association have made appearances and competed in another wrestling promotion, iNoob Championship Wrestling, also known as iNCW. The athletes that have competed include myself, the current iNCW Heavyweight Champion. I know many of our fans and many others who follow the sport of professional wrestling have many questions, especially in regard to our athlete’s actions. First, just to get it out of the way, I have clearly not retired from professional wrestling. In the interest of fair play, I have purposefully excluded myself from competing in PWA specifically, and I fully intend to continue that policy.
“Secondly, there has been some criticism directed at the nature of PWA athletes’ actions in iNCW, from my refusal to defend the iNCW Heavyweight Championship to the most recent altercation between Patrick “The Professional” and Akira Wyld. I understand the criticism. On the other hand, those who are doing the criticism are unfortunately short-sighted and understandably ignorant, especially where the goals of these actions are concerned. On the surface, these actions simply appear to be ruthless business. They appear to be underhanded, even reprehensible. What I would have our critics understand is that while this is business, there is much more at stake. PWA is following an aggressive business model fashioned after the Roman Empire. Allow me to explain. iNCW is a promotion that flails about in its existence, languishing in mediocrity and barely managing to keep itself alive. The wrestlers under contract to iNCW are trapped in a dead-end with no hope of bettering themselves or their careers. Like the Roman Empire, PWA seeks to save the barbarian promotion iNCW from its misguided leadership through conquest. Conquest is not the end, though. PWA will then bring iNCW to the level of competition and respectability that honors the sport of professional wrestling.
“Make no mistake; this is not simply about conquest and business. You see, every time the athletes in PWA walk between those sacred ropes and enter the hallowed ground of the squared circle, they are being compared to the *ahem* “talent” in iNCW. Their roster of man-children and debutantes appear weekly in a run-down, neglected facsimile of a wrestling arena and pretend to be professional athletes. As silly as their antics of dressing in animal costumes and imitating fictional superheroes are, there is very real danger. You see, iNCW does have a small but growing number of fanatical heathens who, in their own ignorance, actually believe what iNCW presents is professional wrestling. This gross misrepresentation of our revered sport is an atrocity, an abomination, and I for one will not stand for it! We cannot and will not stay idle while our sport, our athletic philosophy, our legacy, our very way of life is diminished and demeaned by these unwashed cretins. iNCW is a threat that we will meet and extinguish for the honor of our sport. That is all.”Statistics: Posted by Gary Bloomfield — Thu Aug 09, 2018 2:56 am
